I am sure I have mentioned before what a fan I am of Teresa Cutter – The Healthy Chef & I love all her recipes – they are not Thermomix recipes but so easy to make in the Thermomix here is her recipe for Apple & Cinnamon Bread. I wanted to take the recipe 1 step further back by making my own spelt flour so I started with spelt grains. Did I mention i just love milling in the Thermomix?
YUM!! I chopped the apples in the Thermomix too & used my Thermomix milled cinnamon stick & homemade vanilla bean paste & it was just delicious!!
What a beautiful day to go to the Farm Gate Market, we were on a mission to collect some quality ingredients for our upcoming cooking demo at the Koonya Garlic Festival. Of course all major food adventures must begin with coffee, so we ordered one from Rasberry fool.
We started with a chat while watching people coming & going with their bags of fresh market goodies. I was keen to practice my new photography skills with my new lens & I fit right in as there were lots of tourists with their DSLR cameras at the market today. A few people asked where I was from, um Hobart 🙂
Oh yum fresh basil, growing in a pot yes please!!
This is taking fresh to the next level! The nashi’s are delcicious!!
These Raspberries went 1 better they were picked this morning before the market! Fresh as!
We signed the petition so we can get our delicious organic dairy produce from Elgaar back into production!
One of my favourite ingredients, I don’t need to buy because it’s growing in my garden in huge quantities.
We collected some goats cheese & taste tested the yummy smoked haloumi from Southern Sky Gourmet Cheeses.
We tried the dukkah had a good chat with Geoff from DR Garlic & ordered our black garlic for the garlic festival. He is presenting a talk about black garlic & black holes at the festival & maybe will share his secret recipe for black garlic vodka!
More chats to garlic enthusiast Matt from Van Diemen Garlic he is the one who makes the garlic braids too!
You can’t go to the market & miss out on the best sushi ever! You do have to line up for a while to get your made to order Masaaki Sushi, but it is well worth the wait & we even made some new instagram friends while in line 🙂
What a gorgeous few hours with wonderful talented people 🙂 This event was run by Bec from thirteenredshoes and Dea from To her core, I didn’t realise I knew Dea till I saw her at the door – what a wonderful surprise!! We all drooled over the space!! Dearna has a gorgeous kitchen wouldn’t you agree? How cool are the lights too! After some learning, watching & chatting we got to work styling & shooting on our DSLR & our smart phones.
So drum roll please…………….. here are my DSLR shots!!
I just love that I did apple pics (to her core!!) I had to take a bite out of one all in the name of styling of course!! It was delicious, crispy, crunchy & juicy – the best!!! I still can’t decide my favourite apple shot!!
Then it was the honeycomb from Wellington Apiary drool!! I am sorry I have no idea who styled this shot & we were discussing this today what do you call someone who goes in & takes a shot of something someone else has styled?? Is there a name for this? Please let me know 🙂
Styling walnuts, again not sure who is the hand model either, but I love your work!!
We were given some pink salt RAW Chocolate to style & then eat. This styling & photography can be quite delicious! I love the character of this cake tin I just turned it upsidedown cos I just “needed” to use it somehow?!
Oh yes now we are talking – melted dark chocolate for the pour shot!! Plus I LOVE the pot too 🙂
Go you crazy snap happy people – capture the chocolately drizzle onto the delicious cookies!! Drool!!
Well I have learnt some more tricks & tips plus I certainly had lots of fun too! Thanks ladies for a fab day xx I have had a few light bulb moments!!
