Raspberries

Farm Gate Market

What a beautiful day to go to the Farm Gate Market, we were on a mission to collect some quality ingredients for our upcoming cooking demo at the Koonya Garlic Festival. Of course all major food adventures must begin with coffee, so we ordered one from Rasberry fool.

We started with a chat while watching people coming & going with their bags of fresh market goodies. I was keen to practice my new photography skills with my new lens & I fit right in as there were lots of tourists with their DSLR cameras at the market today. A few people asked where I was from, um Hobart čÖé

Jam – That’s good!

Who loves a bit of Jam? I do but I find the traditional recipe just a bit too sweet so I like to add less sugar. I like the latest idea of adding chia seeds to thicken it so you can use less sugar. It is just so easy to make Jam & chutneys in the Thermomix, it does the cooking & stirring for you. It is not recommended to do a double batch because it could boil over. Always take out the MC from the Thermomix lid & place the simmering basket on top to let out some moisture & catch any splatters.

Here we have the traditional raspberry jam made in the Thermomix with some rhubarb from the garden & a splash of rosewater – the recipe is coming soon!! Perfect to go with my┬áscone┬árecipe.

Exhibition 2015

We had to choose 2 of our photos to exhibit as part of our unit – realise a creative project. So here are mine. I even learned how to mount the pictures for the exhibit.

Let them eat cake

I made the Devil of a Cookbook sponge cake recipe. I also made raspberry, rosewater & rhubarb jam to go with it. I took it into TAFE for a studio shoot. None of the other students or teacher minded helping me eat it after I had taken a lot of different shots!
